Reading & Learning Enhancement

Which areas have improved for Lane after vision therapy? His entire life has improved. He wasn't happy. He was always being picked on because he couldn't...And didn't know why. We came to you. He was almost blind. Now he can see, he can read, while he was never able to do (before). He can run without falling. He can bike. He has a normal childhood now. And we couldn't be more thankful.

— Albat

We were not sure if my daughter got an eye turn genetically or because of a huge bump she got at the age of 4. After being recommended to Dr Liang and getting 40 sessions of vision therapy, I did see eye improvement with her vision, reading and cosmetic look. I am grateful for all the services we received at this place, and we would definitely recommend friends and family here who has the same issues. As an eye turn patient myself, I believed the vision therapy does help when done over a period of time. Kudos to the Warden Optometry and special thanks to Dr. Liang and Matt for dedicating their time in this therapy with us.

— Eva Li

Concussion, Dizziness and Headache

I started neuro-optometric rehabilitation because I had migraines, trouble with driving/moving objects, and trouble with computer/electronics. I would wake up and go to sleep with migraines. After therapy I have reduced eye strain on eyes, fewer headaches, eyes are not drying, improved ability to concentrate, and less dizziness/nausea. Give it a try!

— Max Hirst, team Canada basketball coach

This therapy works. I have exhausted every possible Dr. and therapist trying to get help for my post-concussion issues. I am so grateful I gave this a try and trusted in the process. I have had such relief from Dr. Liang's cutting therapies and glasses tailored to my individual needs. I have been given back the quality of life I had lost from my debilitating concussion symptoms, and it was well worth every penny I spent! I highly recommend Warden Optometry.

— MJ, 50s | Legal Work Staff

Philip no longer has headaches when reading. His eyestrain has been reduced while using his computer. I would definitely recommend vision therapy to others. It aided in speeding up my son’s recovery from a second concussion.

— Philip, 17 | Ontario Blue Jays Baseball Player, Varsity Sports Scholarship Recipient

Before I began neuro-optometric rehabilitation, I had frequent headaches and would get tired very easily. Bright lights and loud noises would give me headaches as well. After neuro-optometric rehabilitation a lot of changes have occurred. Now, I rarely have headaches and get fatigued a lot less. The bright lights and loud noises no longer give me headaches. It is ABSOLUTELY worth it to come here. Yes, it might take a long time, but having no headaches is HEAVEN.

— Zoey

At the beginning I had many severe headaches, along with super volatile and poor vision, with very bad peripheral vision. Now that I have completed neuro-optometric rehabilitation I never have vision related headaches, no more constantly switching glasses, no more frustrating days where I wake up and cannot see, and no more worrying if my vision will ever settle down. Now my vision with glasses and contacts is perfect, and I am so happy I stuck through to the end. I highly recommend neuro-optometric rehabilitation, I do admit it can be very frustrating, and it will seem like nothing is happening. However, it is so worth it, being able to actually and having vision is truly a gift.

— Sully

I used to have many uncomfortable symptoms including unsteadiness, floating, headaches, eye strain, brain fog, fatigue, motion sensitivity, and light sensitivity. Once I began neuro-optometric rehabilitation therapy, I noticed many changes like improved tracking, eye movements, motion sensitivity, and resolved visual midline. In addition to improved computer use stamina, reduced light sensitivity and headaches. I would recommend neuro-optometric rehabilitation, be consistent and trust the process!

//

I experienced severe headaches, not being able to read well for long periods of time, and pain using the computer to complete work. However, once I began neuro-optometric rehabilitation I was able to work longer periods of time on the computer with less headaches. For everyone that is doing therapy right now, continue with therapy!

From the moment I walked into Dr. Yan’s clinic, I felt genuinely welcomed, understood, and cared for by both her and her assistant, Kolina. The environment her and her husband have created at their optometry clinic is so comforting and supportive, especially for someone dealing with the overwhelming effects of a concussion.

Explaining my symptoms to Dr. Yan was honestly healing. She was able to completely resonate with and identify the problems I’ve been experiencing in a way that no one else has since my accident. This is one of the first times someone truly understood what I was trying to explain. She took the time to listen carefully, explain everything thoroughly, and create a plan tailored specifically to helping correct my symptoms.

In only two appointments, I have already identified and started correcting more concussion-related issues than I have in almost an entire year of living with post-concussion symptoms. That alone speaks volumes about her knowledge, care, and approach to treatment.

I cannot recommend this clinic enough to anyone struggling with a concussion or visual symptoms related to one. Dr. Yan, Kolina, and the entire clinic made me feel hopeful again, which is something I truly hadn’t felt in a long time.

— Sophia

Before beginning neuro-optometric rehabilitation I had headaches, trouble sleeping and difficulty reading. Neuro-optometric rehabilitation changed everything, my headaches are gone, I have much better sleep, and my reading has significantly improved. Do all the therapy exercises and follow the instructions given by the vision therapist. It really works!

//

Ever since I started neuro-optometric rehabilitation I haven’t seen blurriness in everyday life. My eyes feel less tired at the end of the day. After reading for a long time, I don’t have to actively push to focus on for objects again. I would recommend neuro-optometric rehabilitation, it is very useful and makes me feel safer in everyday life, especially when I’m driving.

— Melanie Lu

I’ve seen several changes since I’ve started neuro-optometric rehabilitation. I feel less car fatigue, better tracking skills, improved memory and my balance have improved. I would recommend to others as I have made major improvements in these four areas. Although that might seem little, it makes the biggest difference.

//

I experienced dizziness when walking/running, playing sports, depression, and could not drive a car for years. Neuro-optometric rehabilitation changed my life I can walk/run, play sports just like I used to. I am finally able to drive my car after 6 years and long drives too (over 1.5-hour drive). I am finally feeling like my old self and am more confident in myself. I no longer have depression. I would say to take a chance at neuro-optometric rehabilitation! I was very skeptical and thought nothing could help me, but I am glad I believed in Dr. Liang and Maggie!

//

Before neuro-optometric rehabilitation I had headaches when reading and focusing on work, experienced double vision, and a hard time judging distance. Vision therapy changed a lot of things. My head doesn’t hurt when reading, better focusing on world, not seeing double vision, better time playing sports, and distance is much more accurate! Neuro-optometric rehabilitation therapy might seem a little silly and fun, but it does actually work. It’s really a “trust the process” type of thing.

//

I had blurry vision when looking farm dry eyes and headaches, when I was reading. I also frequently skipped lines of text while reading. After neuro-optometric rehabilitation therapy I no longer skip lines when reading, the dry eyes and headaches are gone, I can tell when I’ve been doing too much work because my far vision degrades, before I was not able to pick that up. Therapy helps to build good vision habits, also I don’t trip on the bus as much anymore because my balance is better

— Damen

I had many post-concussion symptoms like headaches, sensitivity to light and sound, dizziness and poor balance, and poor reading skills. I’ve pretty much had full recovery of symptoms since doing neuro-optometric rehabilitation therapy. I’m able to read without headaches, I’m able to go throughout my day without getting a headache, and I’m able to enjoy life more. If you do your exercise and trust the process there is light at the end of the tunnel!

//

I used to get weekly migraines lasting hours, sometimes multiple days. Since starting syntonic therapy, I felt an instant reduction in migraine pain and duration, and after completing a few sessions the migraine pain is gone. I’m in shock at how fast I felt the change and the quality of my life greatly improved. I absolutely recommend neuro-optometric rehabilitation therapy, it is non-invasive, and no medication is required.

— Emylee

I suffered from post-concussive syndrome after a very bad fall on the ice. After being assessed initially at a nearby clinic, I was referred to by Dr. Liang for vision therapy. The results to-state have been very good. Improvements in peripheral vision, depth perception and much more. I never knew about post-concussive syndrome until after my concussion. The vision therapy has been incredibly helpful for my eyes and my frame of mind. Dr. Liang is very knowledgeable and professional. She explains what the assessment results mean, and she has been very supportive and encouraging to me though this process.

— Deborah, Concussion Patient

— Sosuke

— Felix Wang

Thank you for helping me learn how to concentrate. It is so much fun when I do vision therapy. I hope I can stay with you a little longer than one year because I really like you. You have changed my life. Normally, I give up easily, but you told me not to give up. I hope you can teach me more. I’ll miss you. Also, thank you to the assistant who has helped me so much.

— Juliana

I have lazy eyes and a short attention span. After completing vision therapy, my lazy eyes improved significantly. Additionally, it has helped reduce my motion sickness. It’s definitely worth it - I encourage anyone undergoing vision therapy to continue with it.

— Helen

I had a large difference in prescription in my left and right eyes. This caused issues seeing 3D and tracking objects in motion. I also had eye fatigue driving and looking at screens for extended periods. I gained the ability to control my focus and defocusing. I see an improvement in sports (Hockey & Golf) where I need to track fast moving objects. While I still have eye fatigue when focusing for long periods, I have improved (greatly) stamina and better habits/practices (more breaks & less mobile device time). Garbage in, garbage out. You get what you put in, especially when it comes to daily/weekly practice. Ask lots of questions, until things become clear to you and you will have great success!

— Michelle

I have poor peripheral vision, bad focus, inability to see certain things, even if in front of me, also nausea. I got better at sports because I can see better from my peripheral, faster to read for longer periods of time, less carsick, easier to complete homework, better time memorizes and studying. Make sure you do the homework after the vision therapy, it helps improve faster.

I’ve gained a deeper understanding of my vision and its broader impact. It’s fascinating how vision tests can provide insights into the overall health of various aspects of my body. Through vision training. I’ve noticed improvements in my balance and the speed of my focal adjustments. Plus, the exercises themselves have been enjoyable. I’ll recommend to do vision therapy.

— Xujing

I was initially very worried that my child’s vision problem might be untreatable. However, after undergoing vision therapy, my child’s vision has returned to normal. It is important to actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment and spend time with the child to complete the homework at home.

— Bernie’s mum

My son is 5 years old and has been followed by Dr. Liang since he turned 4. Last year. we noticed that he may be far-sighted. This past May, after a thorough examination, he needed correction for far-sightedness and for a "lazy-eye." Rather than the traditional patching, Dr. Liang recommended that we read about Shaw Lens and begin lens therapy to help with his eyesight. He currently wears the Shaw Lens with transition so it doubles as sunglasses as he is light-sensitive. My son was prescribed Shaw Lens and has been wearing his glasses consistently for about a month so far. We noticed that he has more energy at the end of the day after school. He also rubbed his eyes less, and his colouring/artwork significantly improved since wearing his glasses.

He was struggling a little with letter reversals and reading, but has improved significantly towards the last month of school (corresponding with the lens therapy). He can read longer without being as fatigued as before. He also squints less these days. He seems to find it easier to see and decode print words during reading and writing. We have noticed a surprisingly big improvement since the glasses. My son is also very athletic. He wears his glasses while playing soccer and when skating. He has no problems with wearing the glasses when doing sports so far. We hope that it will continue to boost his confidence in reading, learning, sports and socially. He has become more social and open this past month, and has been very popular in at school because of his pretty new glasses/accessory. At the most recent follow-up appointment. Dr. Liang has already noted some positive changes already in his prescription power. Overall, I am very happy with the prescription and lens therapy to date with Dr. Liang. Prevention and early detection are key to eyesight, so we are very fortunate to have started the treatment process.

— Denise Ma, Ph.D.

Sports and Performance Enhancements

My daughter completed several sports vision training sessions with Dr. Liang and vision therapist Matt and we saw a significant improvement in her vision and overall performance on the ice. The progress was noticeable in her reaction time, focus, and confidence.

Dr. Liang and Matt are both extremely professional, patient and attentive. They took the time to explain the process and made each session engaging and effective. We felt well cared for throughout the experience. Highly recommend for any young athlete looking to improve their sports performance through vision training.

— Maria Lin Q (Daughter, Summer Neal, U18AA hockey player for Central York panthers)

Tristan has been noted to improve in sports (basketball), and academics (math). Reading speed and comprehension have improved a lot. Also noted that his attention has improved and ia more responsible his own stuff.

— Tristan, private school student

The main reason for starting neuro-optometric rehabilitation therapy is to increase performance in sports. With therapy there is improvement in reaction time and increased reading speed. It really made sense to focus on this often overlooked area of development. Improving specifically in reaction time has really improved Asher in his sport and increased reading speed was a bonus.

— Asher Bedi, Pam Am Gold medallist for badminton

Phillip no longer has headaches when reading. His eyestrain has been reduced when he uses the computer. I would recommend neuro-optometric rehabilitation therapy. The vision therapy aided in speeding up my son’s recovery from a 2nd concussion.

— Phillips, concussion patient, baseball player from Ontario blue jays

During my time in Warden Optometry, I have noticed changed in my reaction time, being more consistent badminton player who can focus and make fewer mistakes, helping my overall athletic performance overall. I would recommend vision therapy to others.

— Krish Konduru, badminton team Canada silver medallist
