The great news is that recently, there is a new glaucoma eye drop available in Canada. It is preservative free, with less irritations to the eyes. It works by increasing fluid drainage from the front of the eye, between the cornea and the iris.
Ask your doctor for more details about glaucoma treatment and preservative free drops. It does come with some side effects that patients with certain conditions should avoid. Those conditions include inflammation of the lids and iris, eye surgery, cold sore, red eyes (HSV infection), and edema at the back of the eyes.
