Why can't they make -10.D lens with astigmatism in higher than 1.74 index?

There are military grade lenses that can be made better. However, it's not conceivable for consumer mass production. It's also more fragile in higher index, the lens would not sustain the test of impact for it to pass the safety standards to sell to consumers.

The higher the index, the more distortion outside the optical center of the lenses. However, you can get pretty good asperic lenses made in 1.74 for -10.00 and some astigmatism correction. They have some pretty good ones at Zeiss or Hoya lensmaker.

For those eyes, the other options would be LASIK, PRK, refractive lens exchange, contact lenses, RGP lenses, orthokeratology for full or partial correction to wear a less strong lens.

What eye exercises are effective to prevent dry eye?

You can try blinking more.

Average people blink 14-18 times a minute. When you are at the computer, you may blink 4-7 times a minute.

Dry eye is a complex multi-factorial disease. It can cause neurological pain. It’s best to find out what cause it, minimize the irritants, improve lifestyle habits, and use medications when necessary. See here for more details on what caused dry eyes and what might work for treatment.

Having a balanced diet it crucial to your health and eye health. Let's move forward from eating only carrots for night vision, and only berries for macular protection.

What will happen if I wear daily disposable contact lenses repeatedly?

I was asked this questions earlier. I thought it's a fair question in contact lens wearers.
And here are my thoughts on this topic:

You will get closer to having an infection or corneal ulcer. It could from viral, bacterial, acanthomeba, or fungal infection or a mix of them. The worst form is fungal infection. If the infection/ulcer is big and not responding to treatment, You might need a corneal transplant. It’s also painful by the way.

Its not worth it.

If you don't have time to remove them, wear glasses, or do LASIK, or orthokeratology lenses at night.

If you want to continue to wear contacts, and not sure if you are doing it right, just ask your local Optometrist. You can book an appointment if you need to go in and ask more questions. You may have to pay a nominal fee per visit, but call it contact lens coaching if you will.

Invest in your health. The best things in life are free (your own body/cornea), the second best things are very expensive and not be nearly as good. (The corneal transplant).

Do you have any extra winter clothes you can give away?

As a proud Toronto Trillium Lions Club memeber (TTLC), I am happy to have my office as a drop off location for the north GTA area. If any kind souls wants to drop off clean winter clothes they no longer need, I can pass them into the homeless people in downtown Toronto through TTLC.

Please feel free to drop off the clothes between Tuesday to Saturday, from now until November 15th, 2017.
