Did you know that we have solar eclipse coming up in Canada on Aug 21st?
It's a rare astronomical event. I would love to see it. Wouldn't you like to see it too? It's not for the naked eye however. Not even sunglasses cut it. It's meant to be seen with special lenses (similar to those for welders) to avoid retinal damage from the strong UV coming from the sun at the time. Here are a few places that you can see it with protection. Happy sun chasing! Dr. Yan L. I had.. I did a bit of digging (research). It turns out a bit of it is computer vision fatigue (decreased blinking and blue light glare from the computer), a lot of it are usually due to dry eyes.
There are many factors that caused dry eyes. It could be superficial, but also can be hormonal or neurological. The goal of treating this dry eye disease is to restore the eye to it's normal state. It can be done by a spectrum of treatments. To have your dry eyes managed properly, tests needs to be done to evaluate the dry eye causes, and to what degree of severity. See example here. Treatment can be minimal to extensive, including anti-inflammatory drugs and steroid. To function all eight or nine hours at the computer daily, ask your Optometrist to have your dry eyes assessed and managed. Dr. Yan L. Sally:
I've been a patient at multiple optometry clinics before and I can say that Warden Optometry gives the best service. Over the past 3 years, I've gotten 3 routine eye examinations from Dr. Liang and each went very smoothly. She tells you exactly what she's doing and you get to learn new information during your examination. I recently decided to get contacts and she went through step-by-step on how to use and take care of them. She is very passionate about what she does and I would definitely recommend a visit to Warden Optometry!

Overall, I am very happy with the prescription and lens therapy to date with Dr. Liang. Prevention and early detection is key to eyesight, so we are very fortunate to have started the treatment process.
