What is neuro vision training?
In Warden Optometry, neuro vision training is used to improve over 18 visual skills such as eye tracking (pursuits), eye jumping (saccadic eye movements), eye teaming (vergences) and focousing (accommodation), eye-hand coordination, eye-brain coordination, visual reaction time, visualization, and peripheral awareness for visual performances. It can improve visual attention for learning, reduce lazy eyes, and improve performance in sports vision.
It is widely used to improve a child's vision development for learning related vision problems, sports vision, post concussion treatment and brain injury, dizziness and balance.
Symptoms of a vision problem include,
- Skipping lines while reading
- Mixing b and p's
- Writing slanted
- Bumps into things frequently
- Rubbing eyes
- Holding books too close to read
- Writing and reading with poor posture
- Eyestrains or headaches when reading
- Blurred vision
- Double vision
- Closes one eye when reading
- Short attention span
- Fidgeting and moving when reading

Vision and LearningVision is learned during our infancy to first few years of life. Not all children get to learn to develope the tracking (pursuit), saccdic eye movements, focusing and eye teaming skills to make reading and writing easy. Some have their eyes jump around and end up skipping lines, confusing b and d, p and qs.
With Vision therapy, we help children develop in the areas that were missed in their earlier times. Read up more here on child's vision development. With more computer use in school or work, vision fatigue is common. If it starts to affect your work or school, it's time to take care of it. Find out more on computer vision syndrome and treatment here. |
Concussion ManagementA whiplash or a conussion can lead to the brain hitting the front of the skull, then the back and the front again, called the coup, counter-coup effect. This force and shearing force can tear the neural axons and micro blood vessels in the brain, affecting neural pathways.
Symptoms can include blurred vision, headaches, dizziness, eyestrains with near work, light sensitivities, dry eyes, poor focus and driving anxiety. Based on neruro-plasticity, neuro vision rehab can be used to direct the brain to rebuild those neural pathways and networks. Find out more about concussion and managment here. |
Sports VisionMarkham sports vision helps elevate the game for top atheletes.
In basketball, baseball, soccer or hockey, improved reaction time, better tracking, better judgement in distance and depth perception, visualization and better peripheral awareness can give you advantage over your opponent. Find out more here or call us to take your game to the next level. |
