Dr. Yan Ling Liang started wearing glasses at age eleven with -0.75 in both eyes, in Guangzhou, China. Her first introduction to the field of Optometry was when she wanted to wear contact lenses in Toronto. She has learned much about the options for vision correction since.
Dr. Liang was trained in University of Waterloo for Biomedical Science and Doctor of Optometry. She practiced in Edmonton, Alberta, and Thornhill. She is happy to stay in Markham to service the families in the region, and help them for the many years to come. She loves helping young children and adults see better with glasses, contact lenses and treat patients for myopia control.
Dr. Liang is an Eye See Eye Learn program provider, and an ambassador for the downtown Markham region. She speaks about children's eye care services for Chinese Family Services. She is also a member of good standing in Ontario Association of Optometrists and Canadian Association of Optometrists. She is certified to use therapeutic eye medications for diagnostic and treatment purposes. She attends continuing education with a focus on contact lens and ocular surface courses to ensure you receive the most up-to-date eye care. She is also a clinical assessor for graduates from the Optometry school from Canada, US and other sides of the world for their license to practise in Canada.
Dr. Liang is active in the community globally and locally. She volunteered in an eye care mission in La Barca, Mexico, caring for the underprivileged by examining their eyes, providing donated glasses and necessary eye medications. She is also a proud member of Toronto Trillium Lions Club, help raising funds and actively contribute for good causes. Dr. Liang is a strong believer that residents and corporate community involvement together build up strength and wellness of the local community.
Dr. Liang is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
